Tiny apetalous white flowers bloom in an upright spadix which is enclosed by a purplish red spathe. Flowers rarely appear on indoor plants. เปลือกต้นไม้สีน้ำตาลเข้ม มีจุดสีขาวประอยู่ทั่วไป ทุกส่วนมีน้ำยางขาว
มักแตกกิ่งต่ำใกล้ดิน ส่วนใบเป็นใบเดี่ยวรูปไข่ ปลายใบแหลม โคนใบมน ขอบใบเรียบ
เนื้อใบบาง มีดอกสีขาวออกตามซอกใบ ขนาดเล็กความกว้างประมาณ 2 เซนติเมตร
มีกลิ่นหอมเย็น โดยจะส่งกลิ่นแรงตอนค่ำมากกว่าตอนกลางวัน
หากเป็นดอกชั้นเดียวจะเรียกว่า โมกลา แต่ถาหากมีกลีบดอกหลายชั้นจะเรียกว่า โมกซ้อน สามารถออกดอกได้ตลอดทั้งปี แต่จะออกดอกเยอะเป็นพิเศษในช่วงฤดูหนาว นอกจากนี้ยังมีผลเป็นฝักคู่ สามารถนำไปเพาะพันธุ์ต่อได้
